Happy May, Luminary residents! From showing love to the moms in our lives for Mother’s Day, to honoring Memorial Day, to simply appreciating the spring weather, there’s a lot to celebrate this month.

Mother’s Day & Memorial Day Events

There’s never a shortage of great events here in Charm City, and this May is no exception. Learn a new hobby, try out a new brunch spot, or go for a sunset cruise…the possibilities are endless. We put together some events to help you make the most of the month:

Sunday, May 12th 

• Jazz Yacht Brunch: Treat Mom to a yacht brunch on The Raven, featuring live music and gourmet food (including “mom”-osas).
• Mosaic Class: Artsy moms would love this event at the Luann Carra Gallery: a Mother’s Day mosaic class with champagne. $55 per person includes all supplies, instructions, and your handmade work of art that you can pick up the next day.
• Drag Brunch: Another great brunch option is the Drag Brunch at Guilford Hall Brewery, hosted by Kayden Chloe and featuring talented local drag queens. You can purchase bottomless mimosas for $25 and order food in advance.
• Mother’s Day at the Racetrack: Pimlico Race Course is going all out for their Mother’s Day event. A big win would definitely make for a memorable Mother’s Day, but regardless it’s a great way to spend some quality time together.
• Disney Brunch: Jimmy’s will be transformed this Mother’s Day for a magical Disney brunch, complete with themed drinks and DJ Disney classics. Their Brunch & Bubbly series is always a hit, so don’t miss it.

Saturday May 25th

• Asian Food Fest: Asia in a Bite Food Fest is coming to the Inner Harbor, your chance to try authentic Asian dishes and check out unique performances. Plus, admission is free!
• Ax Throwing: Looking for kick-”ax” MDW plans? Check out Urban Axes Marathon Leagues ax-throwing event, open to beginners and expert-level throwers alike.

Sunday May 26th

• 90s Brunch: Jimmy’s is doing another Brunch & Bubbly event for MDW, this time with a fun 90s twist. Don’t forget your scrunchies!
• Arts and Music Fest: With 4 music stages, food trucks, a craft marketplace, and plenty more, the Sowebo Arts and Music Festival is a one-stop spot for the perfect day.
• Party Cruise: If you didn’t get your nautical fix on the Mother’s Day yacht, you still have a chance at the Pier Pressure Party Cruise. This ultimate party boat is stacked with 3 decks, a live DJ, and harbor views.

Monday May 27th

• Veterans Celebration: The VFW is hosting a Memorial Day Celebration, including a service to honor veterans. 

All MDW Weekend

• Greek Fest: Try a taste of Greece right here in Baltimore at the Greek Food, Wine and Cultural Festival. Preston Street will be full of vendors, exhibits, and of course plenty of Greek cuisine and cocktails. 

Celebrate at Luminary

There are also plenty of ways to celebrate from home this May. As Baltimore heats up, take advantage of the picturesque rooftop pool right here at Luminary. Head up for a swim in the afternoon sun, then stay for an evening cocktail at sunset. It’s also a great time to use the poolside grills and master a new recipe before your next summer BBQ.
