Did you know that Baltimore is considered one of the most haunted cities in the country? Consider our city’s many hair-raising legends, bone-chilling ghost stories, and spooky sites, like Fort McHenry, the Lord Baltimore Hotel, and the Westminster Hall and Burying Ground, where famous author Edgar Allan Poe is buried. 

Our haunted history makes it the perfect place to celebrate Halloween. Present day, Baltimore locals are hosting some incredible events to bring the festive Halloween spirit to Charm City. Here are some of our favorites:

The Great Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival

If you’re looking for a wholesome Halloween event, look no further than The Great Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival at Patterson Park on Saturday, October 26th. The festival starts at 4pm, and the parade commences at 7. There will be a costume contest, an arts and crafts market, lantern-making, and more.

Ministry of Brewing’s Halloween Night Market

Enjoy some brews with your boos at Ministry of Brewing’s Halloween Night Market. Over 15 makers and vintage vendors will be there, and costumes are encouraged. It’s on Friday, October 18th from 6-9pm.

Halloween Hootenanny

Lean into your rock ’n roll side at Ottobar’s Halloween Hootenanny on Thursday, October 24th at 7pm. Dress like one of your favorite musicians for a shot at winning their costume contest – or lose big, because the worst costume gets a prize, too.

Halloween Drag Show

Canton’s longest drag show is getting festive this month. Don’t miss the Halloween edition of El Bufalo’s drag show on October 19th at noon. Come ready to drink with your gals and ghouls, because your ticket includes bottomless mimosas, Bloody Mary’s, and other drinks.

Soul Street Halloween Party

Looking for day-of Halloween plans? Check out Soul Street’s Halloween Party, starting at 8pm. They’re bringing classic spooky vibes with a costume contest and a live DJ playing Halloween hits. Just make sure to grab your tickets ASAP, because the price increases by $1 each day.

Halloween Baltimore at the Maryland Science Center 

Just because this party is at a museum doesn’t mean they won’t be throwing down. With 5 different experiences in one, including a rooftop dance party and an immersive IMAX event, our hypothesis is that Studio 24’s Halloween Baltimore at the Maryland Science Center will be a blast. Be sure to get your tickets before the event on Saturday, October 26th at 8pm.

South Baltimore Halloween Bash

Party with our neighbors in South Baltimore at the Halloween Bash on October 26th from noon-4pm in Riverside Park. A live DJ, fall market vendors, and more will be there. Plus, they’re promoting a new surprise addition, so you don’t want to miss it!

Halloween Bike Ride

Enjoy an active Halloweekend activity with Baltimore Bike Party’s Halloween Ride on Friday, October 25th at 6:45pm. The ride departs from St. Mary’s Park. After a fun ride through Charm City, the group will head to Monument City Brewing Co. for some post-cycling drinks.
